Weekend in Taroko

Before summer vacation, Ben and I had a long weekend. In June we headed to the east coast of Taiwan for a weekend trip. We took the train the Hualien and then rented bicycles and rode along the river into Taroko Gorge. Ben did a half marathon here last November and we just had to go back for one more visit. This is still the most beautiful part of Taiwan to me. 3 days of hiking, biking, and discovering hot springs. A quick trip, but definitely worth a post. Check it out.

We hiked down to the bed of the river and came across some natural hot springs.

This was the hot spring pool we came upon. I really wanted to get in, but it was too hot for me. Felt nice on my feet!

Mine!

We stayed in a small, humble hostel just to the right of this gorgeous hotel. A picturesque spot.
